Slow Software management process in CiscoWorks 2000 LMS 2.2

Hi folks,

I am using Ciscoworks 2000 LMS 2.2 on solaris to upgrade the firmware for all IOS switches. I found that it takes almost 2 hours to complete only 20 devices upgrade!! When I check the job report, I find that each device takes about 6min, more or less, to finish their firmware upgrade process!!! When 20 * 6 minutes, it is approximately 2 hrs!!! I am wondering, if CW2K a single thread application according to s/w management tools? It would be a problem to me as I have 500 devices need to upgrade!!! Anybody can give me clue?

Regards,

Samson

Hi Samson,

check if rcp is enabled for RME update device SW; do this under RME > Administration > Config Management > Edit Preferences; uncheck "Use RCP for image transfer (When applicable)"; in the same Window check if a user script is supplied. If yes, check the script if it is ok and/or adjust the timeout value.

Regards,

Martin
