Hi, all,
I try to figure out what exactly "snmp engineID" does. Sure, I read the Cisco explaination, but it is very confusing. Why do we use it, how do we use it, and when do we use it?
Thanks in advance,
Kev

Hi,
it's used in SNMPv3.
See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12111ea1/3550scg/swsnmp.pdf for details.
