SNMP TRAPS

Hi

I wanted to know if it is still possible to receive snmp notifications if no traps are enabled.

Do the messages stop being sent right away when you do the command.

no snmp-server enable traps

I have a few cases where messages (sdlc) are being sent to the HPOV console, when the traps are disabled.

IOS Version Version 12.2(10b)

Thanks in advance

As soon as you enter the command and the statement is removed from the running configuration, you should not continue to receive any traps from the device.

If you didn't the configuration and the router rebooted, then the original snmp-server enable traps statement would still be present and thus traps would still be enabled.

You may still get SDLC traps in some situations.
