SNMP:Trying to calc bandwidth util using ifInOctets / ifOutOctets / IfSpeed

I've read a number of Cisco docs, and some of this forums threads.

I have a Cisco 2900 XL switch which I want to get bandwidth usage stats from.

I need the stats for individual ports (called subinterfaces?).

I've read Cisco's doc on this -

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/SNMP/calculate_bandwidth_snmp.html

As the management software, I'm using WhatsUpGold.

The Cisco software version I'm using is 12.0(5.2)XU.

What I can't figure out is how to get stats from a single port using these SNMP MIB entities?

Also, using SNMP Thresholds or SNMP monitoring, WhatsUp offers to check the status of a device rather than merely log the SNMP stats? I will probably have to import the logs into a spreadsheet for calculations / graphs....

How do I get WhatsUp to store / log raw "ifInOctets" / "ifOutOctets" / "IfSpeed" stats??

If you have Cisco View with WUG, you can use that for getting the port stats etc. You can also manually poll the ifInOctets etc using any snmpwalk utilities like UCD-SNMP which is a free ware.
