source-routing

my question:

i have a router which has the following config on one of its tokenringinterfaces:

interface TokenRing0/0/2

description TokenRing0/0/2: Netz 10.18.3.x (Verbdg. Host(CIP) zu HausLAN)

no ip address

ring-speed 16

source-bridge 2563 1 1130

source-bridge spanning

source-bridge route-cache cbus

how can i check which devices use this port to communicate ???

with "sh rif" i only see the routers tokenrininterfaces !

i am not sure if i can "shutdown" this interface

Re: source-routing

First thought that came to mind is put an access-list on the interface (permit all) and either add the keyword "log" or turn on debugging (warning of course on the second one).

eg debug list 1100 or deug token ring

Hope it helps.

Re: source-routing

Hi

You should see with the show rif like below the MAC address of all TR station how are active. If no MAC’s are there are also no active user and you can shutdown this Interface.

The first pair of Byte at the RIF is the Header and use the form .RRRB. where R is the ring number in hex and B is the Bridge number in Hex.

MAC ADDR TR Hd Ra&B

4000.0374.5002 N/A To0 0 0890.070E.FFFE.1030

4000.1504.3400 N/A To0 2 08B0.160F.FFFF.1030

Andy
