I have a CAT2950 at 12.1(12c)EA1 and I've set up a monitor session to mirror traffic from one fast ethernet port to another where I have my sniffer connected. I do seem to capture all unicast packets ok but do not see any of the multicast (PGM) packets that I'm trying to analyse. I know, for sure, that the port I'm monitoring is sending multicasts any ideas why don't I see them??
I have the monitor port set at the same speed as the monitored port so I should see everthing, I've also tried a different type of sniffer with the same results. (Incidently I have managed to capture one or two multicast packets in some 20-30 traces so I know my sniffer is set up OK).
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
