Is it possible to create a spanning tree loop by using the SPAN function in a 6509 . A couple of times now when we inserted a NAM into a 6509 and have spanned ports to the NAM within a couple of hours we appear to have caused a major spanning tree loop which caused major problems on the network . Are there certain things you should not do when using a span session , particularly to a NAM ? It's not a NAM problem as we had the NAM replaced with a new one from CIsco after the 1st incidence .
