span tree portfast is STP disable? or enable?

We have 3500XL, 2950G series switch.

"spanning-tree portfast" is STP disable? or STP enable?

spanning-tree portfast has not two forwarding delay

therefore, spanning-tree portfast disable STP.

My opinion is correct or wrong?

Portfast sets the port to immediately enter the STP forwarding state and bypass the normal transition from the listening and learning states to the forwarding state.

Like a STP fast-enable

If you type in "spanning-tree portfast" under it a interface, it enables portfast. You can find more documentation at

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/12.html#startup2k

If it's an IOS based switch, I also suggest that you use "switchport mode access" under the interfaces where you are connecting end stations to turn off DTP negotiation
