I have a switch that has become the unwanted root bridge. I know that I need to lower the priority of the chassis that I want to become root bridge but I also want to raise the priority of the current root bridge so that it is the same as the other devices. My question is how do I go about finding the root bridge of the chassis? I know what the mac address is but when I so a "show cam" on the distribution switch the mac address of the root bridge does not come up.

show spantree vlan (eg sh spantree 1), look at the Designated Root Port and track all the way (ie repeat on each switch) to the root switch.
Hope it helps
