Spurious memory access

all -

lastnight i received this error in my log:

11w0d: %ALIGN-3-SPURIOUS: Spurious memory access made at 0x60EC3968 reading 0x0

11w0d: %ALIGN-3-TRACE: -Traceback= 60EC3968 60DF0D94 60DEFE84 606F3534 606F6CD0

according to cisco this appears to be a bug in the IOS accessing protected memory. i've been running this IOS for aprrox. 6 moths with no problems. could this have been just a one time event, or do you see this happening

again?

thanks

Re: Spurious memory access

It is a bug but one from which the IOS managed to recover, as opposed to a router crash.

If you have seen only one in 6 months, it is really not worth worrying about but if you are seeing many, then there is a possible performance overhead.
