Squeeze error

Hello everybody

I try to squeeze the flash filesystem on my CISCO 2621, but I always get the error message: %Error squeezing flash ()

I guess this error occurs because I have not enough free flash memory to squeeze.

Does anybody know how to squeeze the flash memory?

Thanks in advance

Sheffield

Re: Squeeze error

Note the "first create squeeze log by erasing the entire device " line after your squeeze flash command.

The IOS command reference for filesystem commands shows what you need to do:

Re: Squeeze error

Hello bjellig

I have alreday tried the "/nolog" switch bevore, but I've got the same error message.

It seems that the router ignores the nolog switch.

ro111vb#squeeze /nolog flash:

Squeeze operation may take a while. Continue? [confirm]

first create squeeze log by erasing the entire device

%Error squeezing flash ()

Re: Squeeze error

Have you erased the flash yet?

(note that you will need to reload the IOS image after the erase, so make sure you back up the image before running the erase command, and copy it back to flash once it is erased)

Re: Squeeze error

Hi bjellig

Yes, this problem could be solved by formating the flash.

The problem is that this error occurs on several routers and it would be annoying,

always erasing the flash and restoring the IOS image. (Over 30 CISCO 2621 in use)

I thought maybe there is a easier and saver workaround for this problem.

But thanks for your tips bjellig!
