Stacking two 2950 via GBICs SX

Good Morning,

As I do not have enough fiber wires, I would like to stack two 2950 with the GBICs SX.

I would like to connect the switches this way :

C2950-1 G0/1 -> C4006-1 G2/3

C2950-1 G0/2 -> C2950-2 G0/2

C2950-2 G0/1 -> C4006-2 G2/3

Both chassis are connected with an EtherChannel G1/1 and G1/2 of the SUP III card.

We use HRSP in order to have a virtual gateway.

This design create a loop which spanning tree seems to resolve quite well.

Yesterday, we, then, experience some slowliness on the network. I had first to cut the loop I created with the two edge devices. Apparently it was not suffisant to make the network to restart. I also had to reload one of our 4006.

I hope my explanations are clear enough ?

Could you please tell me how do I have to configure the two 2950 in order to prevent such kind of loop ?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Best regards,

Pascal
