start-problems with a 3640

hi,

i have upgraded my 3640 router to 32mb flash.

since there is no valid image in the new flash, i want that the router should start from the pcmcia-slot0 and the i am able to copy the file from slot0 to flash.

i thought so - but it does not work!

rommon 2 > dev

Devices in device table:

id name

flash: flash

slot0: PCMCIA slot 0

slot1: PCMCIA slot 1

eprom: eprom

rommon 3 > dir slot0:

File size Checksum File name

19265320 bytes (0x125f728) 0xd5f0 c3640-js-mz.123-3.bin

So the router says there is ios image in slot0 !

but when i do the following:

rommon 4 > boot slot0:c3640-js-mz.123-3.bin

program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x125f5e4

Re: start-problems with a 3640

Hi! I think maybe you should firstly consider two things:

1. Can you use the pcmcia to boot another 3640 router successfully? Cos you can see the Error : Uncompression of the image failed. invalid compressed data--format violated.

2. Insert the pcmcia to slot1 and then boot the router from slot1, check the result.

If both failed, you have to find another pcmcia with correct ios or use xmodem to transfer new ios.

Hope this helps. Thanks.
