Static IP Address keep some services from working.

My AS5300 uses a DHCP Pool of addresses to hand out to customers. Some I need to assign static addresses.

I do this with Windows 2000 server and it seems to work fine, except, pcAnywhere and Terminal Server don't work! Port 80 does work. It is like they are being blocked.

How can I trace this in the AS5300 to determine what is going on? (Or my 2610 for that matter.)

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Static IP Address keep some services from working.

Hi Mike,

You could enable logging using syslog or use SNMP to track what is going on.

You could also use a few debug commands to verify the exact problem. However use it only if it would not affect the performance of the router in the network. I also checked for bugs, but did not find any as per your description.
