static route issue

I have 3 routers as a star topology with E1's among them. One of them is the main router and the others are in the remote site and sharing the same Lan with HSRP. I have pure static route among the networks.

Once, one of the E1's goes down the routing still stable thanks to "standby track" command, but what if the HSRP-Ethernet on the active router goes down, in the remote site? the main-router doesnt know that and still forward packets to that router.

Is there a possibility to get over this problem?

Hi,

With Static routes, i think there is no possibility for your problem. I can suggest you any dynamic IGP like OSPF by increasing Hello intervals to compensate somewhat the disadvantage of multicast traffic and to get your problem solved. Hope this helps to some extent.
