station roles for HWIC-AP-G-A 802.11 HWIC

I was not sure whether this would be an R&S question or wireless question so I've got a 50/50 chance here. Anyway, I have a situation where I would like to have a HWIC-AP-G-A HWIC act as an 802.11 client and associate to an Aironet 1240 AP. My LAN clients would connect on the wired side of the router and their traffic would traverse the wireless portion to the 1240 to reach the rest of the network. Is this possible? I could not find any documentation on CCO about the HWIC-AP-G-A and what kind of modes it could operate in. The functionality I am looking for from this combo would be equivalent to the "station-role workgroup-bridge" mode provided by some APs.
