Some time ago we changed our snmp in order to complay with the Cisco Security Advisory dealing with malformed SNMP. I followed the work-around and did as suggested. No we have some 3810's changing host names to :
hostname
snmp-server boots 3
end

Any one else experience this type of problem with IOS 12.0(1)XA4?

We had something similar. Did you ever figure this one out???

No I have not. I am suspecting it has something to do with the snmp write community and cicsoworks. There could be a mis-configureation in one of these. At this point its just and idea.

Are you sure that any SNMP Manager is not writing anything to your box? Try changing your SNMP write community!

We have the same problem. It is an SNMP bug with the version of code. We are upgrading to 12.1 (17) and it has taken care of the problem.
