4 servers connected on Cat4506 left connection for unknown reason. However, the condition was resumed automatically after 2 seconds.

What is the possible reason?

This message indicates that the physical port disconnected from the logical port. [dec]/[dec] is the module number/port number, and [dec]/[chars] is the module number/port range. No action is necessary. This message is provided for information only.

There probably was some spanning tree event where the ports became unavailable, and then when the next BPDUs were sent (the timer is 2 seconds) they were recognized and became available again.

I agree with rburts.

I experienced that situation in the last year or so. A 3550 switch in the VTP domain caused this problem. The log would state 50 servers all losing their connection. After about 2 seconds they would reconnect to the switchport. We upgraded the IOS of the 3550 switch. This fixed the problem. I have forgotten with IOS version contained the bug.
