SUP 720 Question

Folks,

We have a Sup 720 in a 7600 series router. We want to use the 2 gig ports in it to pass traffic in our backbone(Gig). Does the architecture all users to use Sup 720 gig modules to be used for passing heavy traffic (line speed). Does the architecture provide these ports with complete access to the switching backplain so that it can switch or route packets at line speed?

I will surely rate this post.

Re: SUP 720 Question

yes, it does. Sup's uplink are non-blocking, it has full access to the 720Gbps switching bus. If you have another sup720 as redundant those uplink alos have full access to the switching bus at line rate.
