Sup720 + WS-X6408A incompatibility?

One of our clients is going to upgrade Sup 2 with Sup720. Although Sup720 is supposed to support all the modules (just need power supplies and fans upgrade), our client has received from another country office the notice that they have to upgrade also WS-X6408A modules. Does anybody know if this is true? Could it be due to some incompatibility or bug found in TAC (for example)?

You can use a 6408A-GBIC card which is a classic card in a Sup720.

Yes, we know is a classic card, and that it is supposed to be supported, but this guys insist that have received (form their IT collegues in other country) the advise not to use it. Is there a way to check if there is any issue about this combination?

Well, here is an output of sh mod from a switch

Router#sh mod

5 2 Supervisor Engine 720 (Active) WS-SUP720-BASE SAD0xxxxxxx

3 0003.3281.6865 to 0003.3281.686c 1.3 5.4(2) 8.3(0.110)TE Ok

5 0011.21ba.23ac to 0011.21ba.23af 3.1 7.7(1) 12.2(17d)SXB Ok

Mod Sub-Module Model Serial Hw Status

--- --------------------------- ------------------ ------------ ------- -------

5 Policy Feature Card 3 WS-F6K-PFC3A SAD0xxxxxxx 2.3 Ok

5 MSFC3 Daughterboard WS-SUP720 SAD0xxxxxxx 2.2 Ok

Mod Online Diag Status

5 Pass

While the card will work, it cannot utilize the Sup720's capabilities to the best and probably that it why they might be recommending to upgrade to a newer line card with distributed forwarding capabilities.
