supernetting with static routes and ospf summary commands

Does the OSPF "summary-address" command for external networks support supernetting. For example "sumamry-address 192.100.0.0 255.255.0.0".

Also, can you configure a static route as a supernet? For example "ip route 192.100.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.1.1.1".

In all the Cisco docs, I have only seen BGP associated with supernetting capability.

Thanks

Hello,

to my best knowledge, the answer to both questions is yes. The summary address as well as the static route are not restricted to classful routing, hence you can ´supernet´ as you like.

Regards,

Georg
