Supervisor II errors

I am having some problems reported by Cat6500 CatOS Supervisor II WS-F6K-PFC2:

2006 Apr 25 21:18:32 CET +01:00 %SYS-4-SUPERVISOR_ERR:Forwarding engine IP checksum error counter = 555

2006 Apr 26 01:18:36 CET +01:00 %SYS-4-SUPERVISOR_ERR:Forwarding engine IP length error counter = 1631

It is reported all day long. I found on Cisco Error Page that it is coused by bad NIC or application of a server connected. I am trying to trace this systems (have a few candidates), but it is common in big Data Center networks many systems are having small and bigger problems without reporting it. Could You for point me what kind of error packages I should look for while looking at "show port x/x" that may have been causing this messages ?

Thanks and regards:

Re: Supervisor II errors

This error tells that switch forwarding engine is getting a IP-packet which

is less than the minimum length of allowed IP-packet and hence dropped it.

In older code we just used to silently drop the packet and count it in the

forwarding engine stats and in newer code we are syslogging it once in

every 30 minutes. There is nothing to worry about from the switch side, as

it is dropping the bad packet, which would have been dropped anyway by the

receiving device.
