Swapping WIC and New Configuration 1721

We are moving our physical office location and upgrading from a DSL to T1 connection. We have 2 1721's connected using VPN. I need to switch WIC's and change IP addresses for the VPN and Static for the T1. Are there any resources on the steps needed to switch WIC's? Such as do I need to shutdown the interface or does the IOS handle all hardware configs. Is there an order I need to follow.

Thanks

Chris

Please check with hardware compatablity matrix given with this document :

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2641/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a008007cb95.html

For doing the swapping of WIC cards switch off the router, remove the power, wear a ESD wrist strap before removing the WIC . replace with new card screw it properly, the power on the router when the router comes to the prompt use "show version" command to see the card has been properly installed. Change the required configuration. Thats all your done .
