every client accesses the application and database server through one smi 3550. all but one can't do the job.and the ftp server gets the same problem.what should I DO ?

Hi,
You may want to SPAN the ftp server and client port and see why the problem occurs. Also, if it is only isolated to one client, it could be a problem local to the port - cabling, bad NIC, etc. Below are a few commands that you can capture on the client port.
e. fast 1/1
show int f1/1
show int f1/1 counter error
show controller ethernet f1/1

first,thank u ,Robert!the client accesses the server by the wan ,not directly connect to the s3550.every client stands on one area in my province.so the next?

I suggest to SPAN the server port and see if there is any loss packet in transit to the switch/server.
