Switch connectivity problem

HI All

I have 2 Cisco Switches (5500 & 2900) both are connected thru a cross cable. My Server is at 5500 and some of clients are at 2900 everything works fine but after every 3 to 4 days my client lost connection from the server. If i restart my 2900 SW then problem gets resolve. Can any one highlight the problem?

Thanks

Re: Switch connectivity problem

Hi,

If client/server is on the same vlan, than most likely it is a local port problem on the 2900. When problem occurs, access the 2900 and capture the commands.

- show interface mod/port (check if input counter increment)

- show mac dyn interface mod/port

- show spanning-tree interface mod/port
