I had a problem with 3524 XL switch today. The switch is not powering up.
So I replaced the switch and brought it up.
One thing that was strange here is the power cord of the switch has got stuck into the socket of the switch severely. It seems to me that power cord has melted. Can anybody tell me the reason for such thing like high voltage, etc or just give me a guess.
As you mentioned that it could be due to high voltage due to whihc the whole Power supply and switch got burned. I would also see if there is some unsual thing happend near the switch rack like some fire burn or some power socket burn.
Try to take the power cord out and if possible try another cord to make it on.otherwise get a replacement.
Well, there was nothing unusual near the switch. The only activity that was carried out the day before was the power socket of the switch was changed from one point to another which was said to be safer.
But after the switch blown problem, I tested it with multimeter and it showed slight fluctuations.
