Switch Processor

HI

In a native IOS what is the use of Swtich prosessor when everything like VLAN VTP is configured on the MSFC( i.e route processor ) then whatz the use of the switch processor ??

please enlighten me on theis

Native IOS gives you one CLI, but architecture wise, route processor and switch processor are stil separate entities. All the layer 2 operations are performed on the Switch Processor. You could login to the SP using "remote login switch" command

When running Native, the SP is basically doing everything it's always done. You just don't see the configuration of it anymore, as that's all done on the MSFC.
