Will our Cisco 802 IDSL router work with our new "cable modem" service?

No...802 is good for IDSL/ISDN only..You need to have a Cable modem (UBR904 or UBR924 etc)...Tejal

Here is another senario. We hook up our new cable service to a cable modem. From the cable modem, can we run a line to the 802 router so that we can allow 3 other computers to access the internet?

No..you can't..because 802 just have one ethernet port and you can only have ethernet connection between cable modem and 802..so there is no place where you can have your 3 users can connect..You can't use a HUB between cable modem and 802 router because in that case you can't do NAT..Tejal
