two WS-C2950T-24 switches connected thru their g0/2 ports , the link is inactive; changing any one side to fast eth restores the connectivity and both g0/2 are functional in at 100mbps. POST detects all h/w as OK. The g0/1 of the switch is connected to another identical switch in a similar fashion and is working fine.
IOS ver of both switches are :IOS (tm) C2950 Software (C2950-I6Q4L2-M), Version 12.1(11)EA1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1). The link was functional earlier. Incident to note was a lightning strike on a nearby building after which the failure was noticed. The switches are powered thru online UPS.
