Hi

Please could somebody let me know what type of switches I require for the following

need switch for lan (48 port 10/100/1000) with 10GB uplink. This needs to connect to another switch (16 port Fiber) also with 10gb uplink. Both switches need to be able to connect additional switches (e.g 2 x 48 port)

Mark,

You have a number of options. Two of these are:

1. Cisco Catalyst 3750G-16TD (16 Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports and 1 10 Gigabit Ethernet XENPAK port). You can use Cisco StackWise technology to daisy-chain nine of these switches.

2. Cisco Catalyst 4503- up to 108 10/100/1000BASE-T ports supported with 2 10GigE ports.
