switchport : mode multi

Hi, I have a star topology with a Catalyst 4006 and 5 Catalyst 3548. I cannot active the switchport in mode multi cause my catalyst work with VTP (trunking)

What can i do to active multi vlan ?

If I'm completly mistaking, it's impossible to mix multi-vlan access and trunking on the same switch. I don't have a clue about why, but for some reason you'll have to choose either trunking or multi. But if this is for connecting the different Cisco-devices it shouldn't be a problem to stay with trunking and instead use allowed-vlans to control which vlans are carried over which trunk.
