Hi,

I am running BGp on cisco 7206VXR (NPE300) processor with 122880K/40960K bytes of memory. which has Uplink and downlink.

I have observed when its starting to make ADJ with my BGP Peer,it starts giving me these errors.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

pls see the logs.

Looks like u are runnin gout of memory to establsih the peer relationship with BGP neighbor.

To check the memory used by the BGP process, use the

*show processes memory | include bgp* command.

General recommendation for BGP is to use 128 MB of RAM in the router to store a complete global BGP routing table from one BGP peer since the BGP routing table occupy more memory.

The memory consumption by BGP routes depends on the

number of attributes such as multi-path support, soft reconfiguration, number of peers, and AS_PATH. For more details on the BGP memory requirement, refer to

RFC 1774 .

Hope it helps.

Hi Kanchivanam ,

Thanks for the reply, but my router is not taking this *show processes memory | include bgp* command.

Pls chek if this can help. Thanks

#sh processes memory
