What I can do to stop this message from appearing. I did a 'show debug' on the router but there wasn't any debugging on.
Also what are the messages that will get log under notifications, serial up/downs?? How can know this? Is there a site where I can get the info from. I would like to know what messages get logged under the other severity level as well.
By default, messages of all severity levels right from debugging to emergencies, are logged to the console. You can however explicitly define the message severity level that should be logged. Use the logging console command for that.
This however would be a quick fix. It is advisable to understand why the messages are being thrown and what they indicate. You could also consider setting up a syslog server. You have not mentioned the platform that you are getting these messages on. Thus as an example, for the 2950, System Message Logging can be configured as shown in the document
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
