Hi,

The problem is that not all syslog messages come to my configured syslog server.

The problem is on Catalyst 4003 CatOS 4.5.

I set :

Severity level 6

Facility local7

set the ip address of my syslog server, and enabled the logging server.

Now, the messages with a severity level lower than 6 (informational) do not get to syslog server, neither come messages with severity level of 6 (that is very starnge).

When I set the severity level of 5, -the messages with sevrity 5, do get to syslog server, but the messages with lower levels dont come. Why is this hapenning? On my IOS switches and routers everithyng is fine, this happen only on catos.

How can I get ALL my syslog messages to syslog server?

Can we try few command out here

set logging level all 6 default

It should work. Can you please try this and update if it works

Yes. It did work, at least a message with level sevrity 6 came to syslog server. Does it mean that messages with lower levels will come to syslog server, like in IOS? Waiting for reply...

Good to know it worked. Yes the message with lower levels (less than 6) will also be sent to the syslog server as it is sent in IOS.
