Does any know if the default route summary LSA will stop being generated by an ABR who has lost all of its backbone area interfaces? The loopback will not be in area zero. In my topology there are two ABRs and a link between the ABRs in the NSSA area. I want to avoid a blackhole if my area zero interfaces go down as well as the intra-ABR link. (They will be sharing a common device that interfaces into my DWDM network)

If the area zero interfaces go down, your ABRs are no longer ABRs, so they will not generate the summary LSA.

Thanks. It sounds logical (that's why I mentioned not having the loopback in area 0.0.0.0) but have you seen it in practice? Thanks.
