T3 Config with 7200 Series VXR routers

I have two 7200 series VXR routers that I need to connect together via T3 (point-to-point). They both have 1DS3+ modules in them. Any help on what needs to be configured would be great.

Thanks,

Todd

configure them as hssi interfaces. very simple. Confgure the HSSI ports like you are configuring serial interfaces.

Here is the link which explains how to configure PA-T3+ on 7200 routers. You can connect it back to back between two 7200.

Do you know the cables required and the configuration to do a back to back scenario?

I have a couple of IDSL routers that I wanted to do a back to back connection with if you have an idea how to do this also.

You need to use BNC cable for that..Here is the link which describes that

Re: T3 Config with 7200 Series VXR routers

Your configuration will be as follows:

controller

framing esf

linecode b8zs

pri-group timeslots

!

Or you can type ? or questionmark once you enter config mode and follow the instructions there.

As an extra tidbit, you must test the T-3 line to discover any DNC or demarcation wire pair errors or malfunctions.

1.Get or construct a t-3 loopback plug.

2.Before going live call the DNC carrier provisioning your circuit.

3.Enter a debug on the router you are connecting.

4.Have the DNC verify the link is error free at the termination mark at the demarcation point.

5.Document your debug logging information.

6.Save and hand to data-center managers and DNC sales rep.

7.Have the DNC sales rep dispatch a technician to test the underground cable.
