Technical differences between Hard reboot and a reload??

I know what they are, but I work at an ISP and we have a lot of remote routers. My boss says we need to hard reboot every router at least once a month. We also have CiscoWorks, and I can schedule router reloads at anytime I want, and it would be a lot easier? Does anybody have any knowledge or experience with the differences. Please let me know. A hard reboot will involve having a physical person at the router location and toggle it off and on.

A reboot will terminate all sessions, reset the hardware, load and verify the software image, execute system diagnostics, and initialize the system.

A reload will involve remotely re-initializing the router/equipment. Reload will deny access to the router/equipment, and connectivity is interrupted briefly between the switches/routers and end stations.
