telco says PRI is configured to only receive 4 digits

we just had a PRI installed and the telco (PECO ADelphia) tech just told me that it's configured to only accept the last 4 digits.

Does this make sense and if so is there a parameter that i configure? (using a 3640)

I will assume that you mean the telso is only sending you the last 4 digits of each phone number. This is normal. The Teloc here only send the last 3 digits. You will need to configure dial peers to send the calls where you want them. I couldnt find a simple dial peer configuration page but this one should be able to get you started.

tnx. i'll check it out.

maybe you can comment on the bigger idea that i pursuing since i have searched in vain for a sample config

i am using this PRI for my disaster recovery backup.

I have contracted with Sungard for a shared PRI. So i want the PRI on my 3640 to call the PRI at Sungard. I've done configs in which a BRI calls a pri but not this.

concept of backup will be the same for bri or pri. The backup interface need to be activated when the primary interfce lost the connectivity. So use the same scheme which you use in case of bri (like dialer watch, floating static routes, backup interface etc) and here is the sample config for dialout using PRI

To evaluate backup scheme, here is the link which will help you for that
