Re: telnet session

Do you mean "public ip address" when you say real ip? Yes, you can telnet into a router from a remote router if you have ip connectivity between them, no access lists blocking telnet, a password under the vty into which you are telnetting.

On remote router, say, Router1#telnet x.x.x.x (where x.x.x.x is your real ip)

Thanks, Mak.

Re: telnet session

Can you ping the router ip address (where you need to telnet)?

Yes, from the pc you can use the telnet x.x.x.x without any additional configs, again ensure you can ping the x x.x.x.x address first.

Where are you trying to telnet, across a NATed address?

Thanks, Mak.

Re: telnet session

Looks like telent is blocked or that ip address is going thru a NAT..Pl. make sure that telnet is not blocked..Try to ping it first..Tejal
