Telnet traffic intiated from console and other traffic

I have got this scenario :

hostname R1

interface Ethernet 0/1

ip address 192.168.10.10 255.255.255.0

ip policy-may APPLYPOLICY

ip local policy route-map REDIRECT

ip access list extended CONTROL

Permit tcp any 172.18.1.0 0.0.0.255 eq 23

route-map REDIRECT permit 10

match ip address CONTROL

set ip next-hop 192.168.10.220

As we know that packets that originate from the router are policy routed according to the local policy.

Does the telnet traffic to a destination on the 172.18.1.0/24 network, that is initiated from console connection on the router, will be policy routed as well ?

Re: Telnet traffic intiated from console and other traffic

Hi,

all traffic locally generated should be treated the same, it should not matter, if you access the router through console or vty. The main point is, that the telnet packets are created locally, no matter how the command is executed.
