Terminal History BUffer on 2500

Is terminal history buffer size enabled on all cisco routers by default...

Is it the same for 2500 routers because the "up arrow" feature is not working on my C2500-JOS56I-L Routers. I artempted to change it with the terminal history buffer size command which took....however the feature did not work.

I am running IOS 12.1(11)

Make sure the terminal history x command is used from enable mode
