I am trying to download a new IOS image into an empty flash partition on a Cisco 3640 (the onboard flash is 12 MB, which I have just partitioned into 4MB and 8MB). The TFTP transfer starts off fine, but each time it gets to about 4.2MB (the new image is 5.5MB), the transfer just stops. I also tried TFTP'ing the image to a 16MB Flash card in Slot 0 (on the same 3640), but the result was the same.
The log on the TFTP server says that the session has been terminated by the peer, which reported a Buffer Overflow error. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this and how to correct the problem? Thanks in advance.
