the available bandwidth less that the actual bandwidth ...

Hi All

My customer is running IOS ver 12.2 on his 2620 for Internet Connection with WIC-2T installed. The ISP has given them 2Mbps leased line. The following has configured on the serial interface:

interface Serial0/0

bandwidth 2048

ip address

ip access-group 100 out

no ip mroute-cache

Following is the show interface results:

ISP2620#sh interfaces serial 0/0

Serial0/0 is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is PowerQUICC Serial

Internet address is

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 2048 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec,

reliability 255/255, txload 149/255, rxload 144/255

Encapsulation HDLC, loopback not set

Keepalive set (10 sec)

Last input 00:00:00, output 00:00:00, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters never

Input queue: 0/75/17/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 1415

Queueing strategy: weighted fair

Output queue: 2/1000/64/1415 (size/max total/threshold/drops)

Conversations 0/32/256 (active/max active/max total)

Reserved Conversations 0/0 (allocated/max allocated)

Available Bandwidth 1536 kilobits/sec

5 minute input rate 1162000 bits/sec, 188 packets/sec

5 minute output rate 1204000 bits/sec, 224 packets/sec

34551240 packets input, 1283019119 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 29628 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

1 input errors, 0 CRC, 1 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 0 abort

32940783 packets output, 2854425947 bytes, 0 underruns

0 output errors, 0 collisions, 1 interface resets

0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

0 carrier transitions

DCD=up DSR=up DTR=up RTS=up CTS=up

My question is why the Available is 1536 kilobit/s instead of 1984 kilobit/s? Appreciate your helps.
