the old 1924 switch

When I try using a serial converter or a null modem the only thing I get on my hyper terminal is ATQ0Z.... This switch is allowing network access for the machines on it, but I can't access it through telnet or console... Any suggestions?

It should work with a straight thru cable with a null modem connector on the configuring PC end , it's always worked for me though I haven't worked on one with code that low .
