Throughput in a 10BaseT of a Catalyst 3000

Why can not I reach more than 4Mbps when I made a tftp-tranfer file port-to-port in the same box even that we are the only users in the switch? both ports was configured with half and full duplex option and the result was the same.

I can not remember where I got this information but someone sent me this performance information awhile back. 4.8 Mbps wire-speed forwarding rate for 64-byte packets (Catalyst 3512 XL). Not sure how big of a file transfer you are doing but obviously that would affect the transfer. If you have checked your configuration maybe you should change ports to see if that helps.
