Time delay in HSRP

Hi,

i have got 6509 as main switch & 3750 as standby switch, both running HSRP. client switch is 2950-24T, 1 connected to 6509 & other to 3750, both 3750 & 6509 connected each other by trunking, now i get 30 seconds of time delay when i remove the 6509 link in 2950,which is very huge delay, when i made a test configuration between 3550/3750 & 2950, i got only 8 seconds of delay, which is acceptable, but when i connected lively, with 6509/3750 & 2950, i am getting 30 seconds of delay. below are the configuration. enabled spanning tree on these switchez but still couldn't solve my problem.

6509

vlan ID

set spantree fwddelay 4 2

set spantree hello 1 2

set spantree maxage 6 2

3750

spanning-tree vlan 2, hello-time 1

spanning-tree vlan 2 forward-time 4

spanning-tree vlan max-age 6

2950

spanning-tree vlan 2 hello-time 1

spanning-tree vlan 2 forward-time 4

spanning-tree vlan 2 max-age 6

all giga ports in these switches are trunked

connectivity lookz like

6509----3750

2950----6509

2950----3750

Re: Time delay in HSRP

Dear Anand,

Your network is somewht similar to my set up.

Current Network flow is explain below.

1) We have one 6509 from where all traffic flow for all customers.

2) TWO 3725 router connected to 6509 .

3) HSRP is working in between tw0 3725 routers.

New Requirement of Network is given below.

1) One 3725 will connect to 6509

2) Second 3725 will connect to 3850 router

3) One Ethernet fron customer router will connect to 6509 .

4) Second ethernet from customer router will connect to 3850 module.

Can u pls suggest how this Scenario will work with auto fallback of any router.I am not going to use any Switch between my backbone devices and customer routers.

Waiting for your reply.

Regards

SAM
