Too Many Disconnection

Hi,

We had AS5800 and we have too many disconnection for the calls we try to check the reasons and we found that the unused modems always logging high calls failures as shown:

can any body explain to me the reason for such disconnection, the success rate of the AS is 15% as shown

Re: Too Many Disconnection

First guess would be that the modems are failing in there negotiations. Is it happening on the same modems over and over while some consistantly work? Then check you modem configs. If its moving with the user; same user has the problem and never connects, check their modem config.

Re: Too Many Disconnection

We see all the calls on these modems fails, all correspond to "No answer".

The disconnect reason 0x7F06 indicates a condition during call-setup, Basically, this is a "dirty" disconnect during Layer I or Layer II training.

Also we see that these modem have failed in pairs (1 DSP for 2 modems)....do we see more modem that fail in pairs or a complete blade fail.

What IOS & modem portware do we have / sh ver / sh spe ver or sh modem ver.

Thanks, Mak

Thanx for ur replying, the IOS version is as follows :

Re: Too Many Disconnection

A complete hex (group of 6 modems) seems to have all calls failing on them...

1)Try reflashing the mica portware on them & see if they take any successful call...since this is 12.2.6 will need to use the SPE commands for recovery.

conf term

spe x/y/z a/b/c

firmware location xxxxxx

2)It's worth moving to 2.7.4.0 portware.

3)If the problem still appears on the same set of modems then there could be an hardware issue.

Thanks, Mak.

Re: Too Many Disconnection

I think it is a bug. Here is my show modem summary, Although my 5800 is answering calls just fine. I am running 12.2.19a:
