Toubleshooting on host/server

Anyone can tell me how to troubleshoot network on hosts/servers (that means WITHOUT LOG IN to routers/switches) when network performance is severely down? Or just what facts can be collected for prediction? Thanks again.

Re: Toubleshooting on host/server

The network performance can be slow or down due to various factors. It is difficult to find out, without logging into the router or switch. One area you can look at is by analysing the type of traffic you are using on the network. If it is voice traffic, using QoS will help. For data traffic, you can give less priority. This will atleast avoid congestion. Increasing bandwidth might help sometimes but not always. May be a you can also use a Performance monitor on the server to find out some facts.
