Traffic Director and 6000 NAM

Have 6000, 4000, and 1900 equipment. Need to do end to end statistics. Can't figure for sure from Cisco docs, do I need NAM for true RMON2 for Cat 6000s. Am I going to need similar device for 4000s? Is it impossible for 1900s?

Re: Traffic Director and 6000 NAM

What type of information do you want from the network?

You talk about statistics. Catalyst support miniRMON (statistics, event, alarms, history) so you can get all the counters from the interfaces. If you want to look higher (layer3-7). You need to add some RMON2 hardware,NAM or Probe.

If you add a probe och NAM module to the Network, there are a feature in the Catalyst to do an remote mirroring(rspan) of a port to collect data to a centralized NAM or probe.

What type of statistics do you want to collect ?
