traffic director server name/ip address change

If I change my traffic director 5.8.2 server name and ip address, do I need to change any of the traffic director configuration files?

Re: traffic director server name/ip address change

I now, but RTM does not provide me with some of the nice functions that TD does such as :

- Is not possible to keep historical data longer than just 31 days.

- Is not possible to set the logging intervals (statistics/hosts/conv) in global settings to an smaller time than 15 minutes, lets say 5 minutes.

- Is not possible to set different logging intervals to different devices.

- RTM does not show a group of links in one shot for historical data. Unless the link is known, have to check one by one until the desire one is found. Very anoying!

I have been in contact with Ngenius people, and unfortunatelly as the application stands today there no answer to the questions above, so until then, I will keep using TD.

Too bad because RTM web console is very nice!!

What about my question!! will I need changes in the TD configuration files if I switch the application to a different server name and IP address?

Thanks.

Re: traffic director server name/ip address change

One possible workaround:

- Run dbshutdn command

- Copy the entire directory \msql to a different machine including the subdirectories. Same for the probe definition and config files under the

\usr folder. Then re-install the app and restore the data back.
